Buying a Minivan

I know, I know... laugh, scoff, roll your eyes, say, "you will NEVER own a minivan."  whatever you can think of, I said once.

Over many hours scouring craigslist we found a few minivans within our price range and mileage range that we decided to go look at.  We originally wanted an SUV, I mean it makes the most sense for our lifestyle.  But, the price difference between an SUV and a minivan in the same mileage range was between $2000-$5000 more.  So...that was out!

Minivan shopping it is!  However, as we began to look more at them and see ourselves in it, it became apparent that they are ridiculously practical cars for families with kids!  To make a long story short we found one we fell in love with.  It has the stow n go seating which means all the seats fold into the floor to make for a completely flat floor (of which means you can haul A LOT of crap in a van).  When the seats are up the under floor space works as storage!!!  It's really amazing. In addition to this obviously amazing feature, the one we were looking at came with a DVD player.  This was not really a must or a need or even a want for me.  But, man has it come in handy on longer road trips!  It allows for just enough peace that Jeff and I can talk in peace....yes, we may be talking over Bob and Larry from Veggietales or Big Bird, but it's a trade off we are willing to make!  :)

Almost two months later and we are still, and even more so, IN LOVE with our minivan "Bessy."
